Description:
MPO stands for Multiple-fiber Push-On/Pull-Off, it is a connector standard, meets IEC 61754-7;
MTP stands for Multifiber Termination Push-On, it is a specific brand of a MPO connector developed by USCONEC.
Mechanical transfer (MT) ferrule technology lies at the heart of the MPO connector.
MTP Brand and MPO connectors are 100% interchangeable.
MPO MTP trunk cables are high density ruggedized fiber cables used to distribute large numbers of fiber from one area of installation to another. They are 12-, 24-, 36-, 48-, 72-, 96-, 144 multi-fiber optional. The MPO MTP connectors at both ends can be female-female, male-male and female-male type. The male connector has metal guide pins to ensure fiber alignment when mating with female connectors. Nowadays, the MPO MTP truck cable assembly are broadly deployed into 40G and 100G cabling.
